Excerpt from the book: The patients had metastatic cancer that showed resistance to traditional treatment. The cancer spread to all parts of the body (stage 4), even though chemotherapy with fotemustine and dacarbazine was given. For these patients, it was decided to add dietary supplements with artemisinin. After starting artemisinin, the disease was brought under control, and the metastases became smaller. For this category of patients, the expected life expectancy is only 2-5 months, but with artemisinin, the participants were alive after 47 months, when the study stopped. How long the life expectancy may be after 47 months is thus unknown, but even if only a short time has been gained beyond the measured 47 months, it is a dramatic improvement from the expected 2-5 months.
